As Christian moms, our days are often filled with the busy hum of life—working, managing the household, taking care of the kids, and a dozen other things. It can feel overwhelming, and in the midst of it all, we sometimes forget to pause and seek the quiet, still voice of God. But here’s the beautiful truth: God’s grace is present even in the busiest of days.
In Titus 2:11-12, it says, “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” This verse reminds us that God’s grace is an active presence in our lives, guiding and teaching us through the noise of everyday life.
The Beauty of Imperfection
There is a misconception that we need to have it all together—that to be faithful followers of Christ, we must have perfect homes, perfect kids, and perfectly organized lives. But God doesn’t expect perfection from us; He desires our hearts. He wants us to come to Him, mess and all, and rest in the knowledge that His grace is sufficient.
As moms, we can take comfort in knowing that our worth is not defined by how perfectly we manage our lives, but by the unshakable love and grace of our Father. When we mess up, when we lose our temper, when the to-do list feels endless—we can lean into God’s grace, knowing that He is with us in every moment.
Seeking God in the Small Moments
One of the biggest challenges we face as busy moms is finding time for God. But here’s the thing: God isn’t confined to a set time or place. He is with us in the small moments—when we’re packing lunches, commuting to work, folding laundry, or soothing a crying baby. We can invite Him into these everyday tasks.
A few simple ways to incorporate more faith-filled moments into your busy day:
Morning Gratitude: As soon as you wake up, take a moment to thank God for the gift of another day. Even a quick prayer of gratitude can set a positive tone for the day ahead.
Prayer in the Chaos: Whether you're driving to work or prepping dinner, say short, honest prayers. Talk to God about your worries, joys, and the little details of your day.
Scripture in the Mundane: Write down a favorite verse and place it somewhere you'll see it often—on the bathroom mirror, the refrigerator, or even on your phone’s lock screen. Let God’s Word remind you of His presence throughout the day.
Resting in His Grace
We often think of rest as something physical—taking a nap, getting a break from the kids—but spiritual rest is just as important. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28-29, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
True rest comes from surrendering our burdens to God and trusting that He is in control. When we let go of the pressure to do it all ourselves, we can experience the peace that only He provides.
Encouragement for Today
As you go about your busy day, remember that God’s grace meets you where you are. He’s there in the laughter, the tears, the chaos, and the calm. You don’t have to wait for a perfect moment to come to Him—He’s with you in every imperfect one.
This week, I encourage you to find small ways to invite God into your daily routine. Let His grace guide you, strengthen you, and remind you that even in the busyness, you are deeply loved and never alone.
Take a deep breath, mama. You are blessed, even in the busy.
